Speaking as your career advisor, I feel obliged to point out that the theme of commenting is the same as networking — helping others by sharing knowledge and information.

GENERAL

1. Commenter Privacy and Protection: All email, snail mail, phone numbers, and any private and personal information posted in any comment will be deleted as soon as possible to protect your privacy. Email addresses are necessary for commenting but are not published on the blog, nor shared. Email addresses may be used by the blogger  (me) to privately contact the commenter (you). To prevent the need for editing, never put private information in your blog comment, please.
2. How I Will Respond: Comments on this www.emilyoncareers.com will be responded to in direct response to the blog comment. The blogger will respond privately via email or other communication method to a blog comment when appropriate.
3. What To Do If Your Comment Does Not Appear: If you leave a comment on this blog and it does not appear in a reasonable time period, and you know that it does not violate these Comment Policies, contact Emily at AskEmily@emilyoncareers.com.

BEHAVIOR

1. A Comment is Conversation: A comment that does not add to the conversation, runs on an inappropriate tangent, or kills the conversation may be edited, moved, or deleted.
2. No Personal Attack Comments or Offensive Language Permitted: In the interest of fair play, no personal attacks are permitted in emilyoncareers.com’s comments. You may question, argue or debate the content, but please do not attack the blogger, nor any commenters. Failure to respect fellow commenters on this blog could result in removal and blocked access. We are a family-friendly blog – please watch your language.

SPAM AND OTHER REASONS COMMENTS MAY BE DELETED

1. Comment Form Guidelines: If you intend to comment on an article you must use a personal, non-commercial URL or leave the URL field blank. Commercial URLs are unwelcome, and are considered a form of Spam. Comments using keywords, spam or other suspicious information in the comment form will be edited or deleted.

1. Names: You must use either your real or legitimate-sounding name or nickname when registering or commenting. Absolutely no “keyword” type names will be tolerated. If it even looks suspicious your comment will be deleted. (ie – “Ringtones”, “Watches”, “Free Downloads”, and so on.)
2. Do Not Leave Comments Just To Get On The Top Commenters List. It’s obvious from the timestamps when someone leaves a massive numbers of comments without even reading the articles just to try and get on the list. All of these will be deleted.
3. Limit Links: If your blog comment contains more than two links, it may delay your comment from appearing on this blog. Any blog comment with more than four links could be marked as comment spam.
4. Comment Spam: Any comment assumed to be possible spam, links to spam, phishing sites, or other harmful content will be deleted and marked as comment spam.
5. Trackbacks Are Comments: All trackbacks will be treated in line with our Comments Policy.
6. Commenters Blocked: Anyone who violates this Comments Policy may be blocked from future access and/or commenting on www.emilyoncareers.com.
