Bio

Emily Bardeen is a  skilled career consultant and dynamic speaker recognized for her effective career and job search advice and thought-provoking insight.  Her style combines wit and wisdom with an easy-to-understand, practical and often inspirational approach.

Emily created emilyoncareers.com to advise and support job and career searchers and their organizations. 

She has over 15 years of experience worked with clients of all ages, and has experience with careers ranging from Aesthetician to Zoologist – and even a spy.

Emily was the founding Director of Alumni Career Services and Human Resources Director of Faculty and Staff Career Services at the University of Virginia.  She’s career counseled  at a Women’s Center, and with undergraduate and graduate students as well as high schoolers.

Emily consults on organizations on human resources, career and workforce development issues.  Committed to accessible job and career advising to individuals and organizations,  Emily volunteers her services at AllExperts.com and through her church, local non-profits. 

After a successful career in information technology sales and business development, an intentional career change  – including education, networking and hard work – led Emily to her current field.

Her articles have appeared in Workherway.com, DivineCaroline, Work & Life and Working Weekly. She has been quoted in the Washington Post and the New York Daily News.   

Emily holds degrees from Georgetown University and William Smith College and numerous professional development certifications.  She is married, has two children, needs a dog and lives in the Shenandoah Mountains outside of Charlottesville, Virginia.
